To the young man who seriously attempted to lure me into a car full of his friends, and the taxi driver who shouted at me from across the highway, demanding that I enter his. To the guy who followed me down the street in his vehicle for a block, repeatedly asking if I needed a ride. To the man on the subway who looked me dead in the face and said, “Now THAT’s a hoe. A nappy headed hoe.” To all the male passengers around him who nodded in agreement, or expressed approval with their silence. To my cab driver who, after all of that, stalled giving me my change for at least a minute to insist that I give him my number, as I quietly, frantically fumbled for the door to make sure it was unlocked. To street harassment. To misogyny. To rape culture.
